Signal No. 1 Issued for 13 Districts Including Dhaka

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather alert for 13 districts including the capital Dhaka warning of impending thunderstorms and gusty winds. Inland river ports in the affected areas have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal number 1.

According to the BMD’s forecast valid from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday (August 4), temporary rain or thunderstorms accompanied by south or southeasterly squalls are likely to sweep across the country. Wind speeds are expected to range between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour.

The alert covers the districts of Rangpur Dinajpur Bogura Tangail Mymensingh Dhaka Khulna Barishal Patuakhali Noakhali Chattogram Cox's Bazar and Sylhet. Vessel operators and passengers navigating these inland waterways are advised to proceed with caution during this period.
