Mohammad Shahed the controversial chairman of Regent Hospital, was arrested again on Sunday in the ECB Chattar area of Dhaka.
The arrest follows a court-issued warrant linked to a criminal case filed at the Pallabi Police Station. Personnel from the Cantonment Police Station detained Shahed at the request of Pallabi Police. Hasan Basir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Pallabi Police Station, confirmed the arrest. "We are on our way to bring him into our custody. We will be able to provide further details once he is handed over to us," Basir stated.
Shahed previously gained nationwide notoriety during the Covid-19 pandemic for his central role in the Regent Hospital scandal, alongside facing multiple criminal allegations of fraud and forgery.
