Bangladesh received $2.018 billion in remittances during the first 20 days of July 2026, marking a 23.1% year-on-year increase, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.
The central bank said expatriate Bangladeshis sent $2.018 billion between July 1 and July 20, compared with $1.639 billion during the same period in 2025.
On July 20 alone, remittance inflows totaled $75 million, reflecting continued strong transfers from Bangladeshis working abroad.
The robust growth in remittance earnings at the start of the 2026–27 fiscal year signals sustained momentum in one of Bangladesh's largest sources of foreign exchange.
Higher remittance inflows are expected to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves, support external sector stability and contribute positively to economic activity during the opening months of the fiscal year.
