On Sunday, Facebook's desktop platform experienced a widespread outage, leaving users in multiple countries unable to access key features.
Problems started around midday, with many unable to log in, load their News Feed, or use basic functions. Users experienced unusually slow loading times, and others saw feeds failing to refresh or show new content.
Downdetector, an online outage monitoring website, recorded a sharp spike in complaints starting around 1:30 pm, with thousands of users reporting access issues. As of this report, Meta has not released an official statement regarding the cause of the disruption.
