Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Md. Aminul Islam, stated on Tuesday that the investigation into the 2013 Shapla Chattar massacre is nearing completion. He emphasized that all individuals involved, regardless of their former rank—from heads of state to staff—will face accountability.
Speaking to reporters on March 31, Islam confirmed that the investigation report is expected to be submitted soon. This development follows a recent order by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 to send former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Abdul Jalil Mondal to prison in connection with the case.
The Chief Prosecutor further noted that the tribunal intends to investigate and prosecute all past "crossfire" incidents. He clarified that individuals linked to crimes against humanity dating back to the "One Eleven" (2007–2008) political crisis will also be brought to justice.
