


The prosecution has filed a formal request to show retired Lieutenant Generals Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Sheikh Mamun Khaled as arrested in separate crimes against humanity cases.
Prosecutor Gazi Monwar Hussain Tamim confirmed the move to reporters on Sunday, stating that the applications were submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal-2.
Masud Uddin Chowdhury The prosecution seeks his arrest in connection with the July genocide case.
Sheikh Mamun Khaled The request pertains to a tribunal case involving allegations of enforced disappearances.
Both former military officials are already in custody. Masud Uddin Chowdhury, a key figure during the 2007–2008 emergency period (1-11), was arrested last Monday by the Detective Branch (DB) from his Dhaka residence. He is currently on a five-day remand related to a human trafficking case filed at Paltan Police Station. Reports suggest he is also being questioned regarding his role during the 1-11 era.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mamun Khaled, a former Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), was arrested last Wednesday. He is serving a five-day remand in connection with a murder case at Mirpur Police Station dating back to the July uprising.
