Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid emphasized that Bangladesh is a nation of communal harmony and mutual respect, urging citizens of all faiths to stand united against injustice.

Speaking at a Janmashtami celebration in Cumilla on Friday morning, the minister stated, "People of all religions are equal partners here. It is our collective responsibility to build a beautiful, peaceful and prosperous country."

Janmashtami which commemorates the birth of Lord Sri Krishna, was observed with festive enthusiasm. Highlighting the core message of the occasion, Aminur noted that no religion tolerates evil or unfairness. Instead, all faiths advocate for human welfare, justice, compassion and peace.

He reminded the audience of their duty to the future, saying, "Our predecessors left us a beautiful country. Building a more developed, humane and safe Bangladesh for the next generation is a primary responsibility of the present one."

The minister expressed confidence that if the peace-loving majority remains united through mutual respect, no evil force can disrupt society. Following his speech, he actively participated in a vibrant Mangal Shobhajatra (festive procession) to mark the occasion.

The discussion was chaired by Shri Shyamal Krishna Saha, Convener of the Cumilla Janmashtami Celebration Committee. Other prominent speakers and attendees included Cumilla City Corporation Administrator Yousuf Mollah, Deputy Commissioner Rosy Akter and committee leaders Dilip Nag Kanai, Subrata Chowdhury Tapu and Sanjit Debnath.
