


Devotees in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat celebrated Krishna Janmashtami, a major religious festival for the Hindu community with vibrant festivities and religious fervor on Friday.
The day’s programs began at 10:00 am with a religious discussion and introductory session at the Kachua Upazila Central Sri Sri Radha Govinda Temple. Following the discussion a colorful Mangal Shobhajatra (procession) was brought out. The rally paraded through the main roads of Kachua Bazar before peacefully concluding at the temple complex.
Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Amir Salman Rony inaugurated the procession as the chief guest. Local leaders and officials, including Kachua Upazila BNP General Secretary SM Touhidul Islam and Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Al Mamun also attended the event.
The program was organized by the Kachua upazila branch of the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front. Animesh Kanti Saha the President of the Janmashtami Celebration Committee, chaired the session while Uzzal Kumar Das and Pranoy Kanti Saha jointly moderated the proceedings.
Hundreds of devotees, prominent businessmen and community leaders participated in the celebrations, which concluded with the traditional distribution of prasad among the attendees.
In addition to the central event, similar Janmashtami festivities and prayers were held with due reverence at the Shibpur Shibbari and Shanpukuria temples within the upazila.
