Minister Annie highlighted the government’s ambitious plan to revive the national canal excavation program, a strategy largely dormant since 1981.

Five-Year Goal The government aims to excavate 20,000 kilometers of canals over the next five years.

Expert Oversight The Minister urged engineers and experts to ensure proper site selection and coordination to avoid wasting resources.

Integrated Management Efforts will focus on water conservation, pollution control, and climate change adaptation to ensure universal access to safe water.

Reflecting on the country’s political journey, the Minister noted that the current administration's mandate is built on years of sacrifice and the recent July Movement. He reaffirmed that the Ministry of Water Resources will prioritize transparency and skilled manpower to deliver on its promises to the people.
