Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee stated on Friday that there is no opportunity for the banned Awami League to conduct organizational activities in Bangladesh.
Speaking as the chief guest at a Mohila Dal introductory meeting in Dattapara, Laxmipur, Anee warned against sporadic attempts by the fallen ruling party to cause disruptions.
"The organization of those who fled on August 5, 2024 was banned following 17 years of misdeeds," Anee said. "There is no scope for them to carry out political activities. While they try to commit sporadic mischief, we must remain vigilant."
Anee also addressed political opposition groups questioning the pace of government work also urging them to exercise patience and restraint.
"Since the BNP is in power, it is impossible to accomplish everything within six months," he noted with criticizing frequent calls for street protests, long marches, and road blockades by opposition factions.
Additionally, Anee cautioned voters against political exploitation of religious sentiments, referencing past campaign rhetoric claiming entry into Paradise. He emphasized that religious faith and spiritual outcomes are determined solely by the Almighty, not by any political entity.
The meeting introduced newly formed union and ward-level committees for Mohila Dal, the women’s wing of the BNP. Special guests at the event included Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Chandraganj Upazila BNP President M. Bellal Hossain alongside local Mohila Dal leaders Sakina Begum, Tajnehar Begum, Najmun Nahar and Rabeya Begum.
