Rainwater harvesting tanks were distributed among underprivileged families in Paikgachha, Khulna, on Monday morning.

The distribution ceremony, held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, featured Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury as the chief guest. Under the 'STAR' project—managed by the non-governmental organization Leaders—50 water tanks were provided to 50 families from the Laskar and Soladana unions to help mitigate the coastal freshwater crisis.

The event was attended by several local officials and community leaders, including Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, OC Golam Kibria, and representatives from various political and social organizations. NGO officials from Leaders, including Team Leader Sharmin Ara Lina and Training Officer Bikash Kumar Das, were also present to coordinate the handover.
