Bagerhat-4 MP Abdul Alim stated that a state governed by an Islamic economic system, specifically one rooted in Zakat, is the most effective way to ensure the rights and dignity of the working class.
Speaking as the chief guest at a May Day rally organized by the Bangladesh Shramik Kalyan Federation on Friday, the MP argued that human-made systems often fail to bridge the gap between social classes. He emphasized that an economy based on Islamic ideals would eliminate disparities between the rich and the poor, fostering a stronger bond of brotherhood between employers and employees.
The event, held at 4:00 PM at the Morelganj Model Mosque Auditorium, was chaired by Rezaul Karim, President of the Municipal Shramik Kalyan Federation. Prominent educator Professor Shahidul Islam attended as the keynote speaker. Other notable guests included Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Maulana Shahadat Hossain, Nayeb-e-Amir Master Moniruzzaman, and Municipal Amir Rafiqul Islam. Local federation leaders Professor Abdul Mannan and Professor Sabir Ahmed also addressed the gathering.
