The Pabna district branch of the Bangladesh Workers' Welfare Federation organized a massive rally and street meeting on Friday to observe May Day.
Hundreds of workers from diverse sectors—including tailoring, hosiery, workshops, dairy, poultry, weaving, rickshaw-pulling, salons, and furniture making—joined the procession at 11:00 AM.
The rally commenced in front of the Pabna Press Club, paraded through the city’s main thoroughfares, and concluded with a street meeting at the Big Market (Boro Bazar). Speakers at the gathering emphasized the historical significance of May Day and called for the protection of workers' rights across all informal and formal sectors.
