


Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Workers’ Welfare Federation held a rally and gathering in Morelganj, Bagerhat, on Friday to mark International Workers’ Day.
The event, themed "Implementing Islamic labor principles to establish workers' rights," began with a colorful procession at 9:00 AM from Government SM College. The rally paraded through major town roads before concluding with a discussion at the Nabbirashi bus stand.
Bagerhat-4 MP, Principal Abdul Alim, attended as the chief guest. In his address, the MP emphasized that Islamic principles offer the most sustainable framework for protecting labor rights. "Workers are the backbone of our economy and national development," Alim stated. "We must ensure they receive their just wages before their sweat dries. Jamaat-e-Islami remains committed to advocating for the fair rights of the working class."
The gathering was presided over by Professor Abdul Mannan Khan, President of the Upazila Workers’ Welfare Federation. Other notable speakers included Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Shahadat Hossain, Nayeb Ameer Master Moniruzzaman, and Municipal Workers’ Welfare Federation President Master Rezaul Karim.
