US Ambassador Congratulates New Foreign Minister, Pledges Deeper Ties

US Ambassador Brent Christensen met with Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman on Monday morning to congratulate him on his new role and discuss the future of bilateral relations.

During the courtesy call at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Christensen reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to collaborating with Dhaka. He emphasized a shared vision for making both nations safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

“We are committed to continuing our work with Bangladesh to achieve mutual prosperity and security,” the Ambassador stated during the meeting.

Prior to his discussion with the Foreign Minister, Ambassador Christensen also held a courtesy meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaid Islam.
