A mobile court fined a meat trader Tk 10,000 on Monday for selling rotten beef at a local market in Phulbari Upazila. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM at Phulbari market. Locals reported that the trader, Ekramul Haque, was caught red-handed by customers while attempting to sell spoiled meat.

Upon receiving the report, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Anwar Hossain arrived at the scene. He was accompanied by Upazila Veterinary Surgeon Golam Moudud Ahmed and members of the Phulbari police.

The mobile court sentenced Haque to a fine of Tk 10,000, with an alternative of one month in prison. The trader chose to pay the fine immediately. Following the legal proceedings, officials seized the rotten beef and buried it to ensure public safety.
