An order issued from Army Headquarters on 22 February confirmed the changes.
Maj Gen Mir Mushfiqur Rahman, general officer commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division in Chattogram, has been promoted to lieutenant general and appointed principal staff officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division.
He replaces Lt Gen SM Kamrul Hasan, who had served as PSO since August 2024 and has now been appointed ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Brig Gen Kaiser Rashid, previously serving in the Military Operations and Quartering (M&Q) Directorate, has been promoted to major general and appointed director general of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).
He succeeds Maj Gen Mohammad Jahangir Alam, who has also been assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an ambassador.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Md Mainur Rahman, who was serving at the Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC), has been appointed chief of general staff (CGS) at Army Headquarters.
The reshuffle also includes changes at divisional and regimental levels.
Maj Gen JM Emdadul Islam, previously GOC of the 55 Infantry Division, has been appointed commandant of the East Bengal Regimental Centre (EBRC).
Maj Gen Ferdous Hasan Selim, who had been serving at the EBRC, has taken over as GOC of the 24 Infantry Division.
In another promotion, Brig Gen Md Hafizur Rahman, formerly defence adviser at the Bangladesh High Commission in India, has been elevated to major general and appointed GOC of the 55 Infantry Division.
Officials said the reshuffle aims to strengthen command efficiency and ensure continuity in key operational and intelligence roles.
