Drug Peddler Arrested with Heroin Worth Tk 3 Crore in Sirajganj

RAB-12 personnel arrested a man and seized 3.09 kg of heroin, worth approximately Tk 3 crore, during a raid at the Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station area.

The arrest took place near the bridge toll plaza at 10:30 PM on Sunday. The elite force also seized a truck used for transporting the narcotics and a mobile phone.

The arrestee was identified as Ismail Hossain, 31, son of the late Ibrahim Hossain, hailing from Matikura village in Dinajpur’s Birganj upazila.

Major Md. Ahsan Habib, Acting Commander of RAB-12, confirmed the matter during a press briefing on Monday afternoon. He stated that the operation was conducted based on a secret tip-off.

A case has been filed against the suspect under the Narcotics Control Act at the Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station.
