


Gold prices have been increased again in the domestic market, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 261,040, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The revised prices will take effect from 10:00am on Monday (February 23). BAJUS said the hike follows an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. Details were shared in a press release signed by the committee’s chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
This is the second price increase within two days. On February 21, the price of 22-carat gold was raised by Tk 3,266 to Tk 258,824 per bhori.

21-carat: Tk 249,143 per bhori (up Tk 2,041)
18-carat: Tk 213,568 per bhori (up Tk 1,808)
Traditional gold: Tk 174,785 per bhori (up Tk 1,458)
The previous rates, effective from 10:15am on February 21, remained valid until 9:59am on Monday.

21-carat: Tk 6,415 per bhori
18-carat: Tk 5,482 per bhori
Traditional silver: Tk 4,082 per bhori
