The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced local gold and silver prices for the third consecutive time also bringing relief to buyers nationwide. The new prices came into effect from 10:00 AM on Tuesday following a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
Under the updated rate structure, the price of high-quality 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT has been reduced to Tk.2,28,556. Previously on Monday, 22-carat gold was priced at Tk.2,30,772 per bhori.
Similarly the 21-carat gold is now selling at Tk.2,18,292 per bhori, down from Tk.2,20,391. The price for 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk.1,87,440 per bhori while gold crafted under traditional methods will now cost Tk.1,53,148 per bhori.
BAJUS also adjusted local silver prices alongside gold. Under the new rate chart the 22-carat silver is priced at Tk.4,327 per bhori, 21-carat silver at Tk.4,141 per bhori, 18-carat silver at Tk 3,558 per bhori and traditional method silver at Tk.2,683 per bhori.
The association noted that the downward revision reflects changing market dynamics and standard price monitoring practices.
