Hotel Gulshan Palace, a residential hotel located adjacent to Bailey Bridge in Faridpur, was sealed following a raid conducted by a mobile court on Thursday around 1 pm.
The raid was executed by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrates Md. Atiqur Rahman and Nuzhat Tabassum of the district administration. During the operation, three women were arrested on charges of engaging in "anti-social activities." Executive Magistrate Md. Atiqur Rahman confirmed that the three women were sentenced to different terms following their arrest. The magistrate noted the raid was part of the district administration's regular mobile court activities, undertaken after receiving secret information about drug consumption and anti-social activities at the hotel.
The team also recovered various tools associated with drug use and anti-social activities, which are slated for destruction ("doped"). The hotel manager and other concerned personnel fled the scene during the raid. Executive Magistrate Nuzhat Tabassum stated that legal action will be taken against the owners and managers.
