US Vice President JD Vance has said the United States will not enter into a prolonged military conflict. In an interview with Fox News Channel, Vance said President Donald Trump has one clear objective — to ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.

“The president does not want to keep the country safe from the threat of Iranian nuclear weapons for just three or four years of his second term,” Vance said. “He wants to ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon. That requires a fundamental change in the mindset of the Iranian regime.”

Vance also stressed that any US action would not turn into a long-term war.

“Donald Trump will not allow this country to engage in a multi-year war,” he said. “We will not go back to the problems we had in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

He further claimed that Iran’s nuclear facilities were not built solely for civilian enrichment, as Tehran maintains, but were designed to support nuclear weapons development.
