Chattogram's most wanted terrorist, Iqbal, has been arrested

Chattogram District Police have arrested Muhammad Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, also known as Prakash Major Iqbal.

He was taken into custody from his residence in Ward No. 7 of Raozan Municipality on the night of Monday, November 10. The arrested individual, Iqbal, is the son of Abdul Quddus from the same locality.

According to police sources, Muhammad Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury Prakash Major Iqbal has been implicated in at least 40 criminal cases. He has previously served time in prison for some of these offenses. Currently, there are 11 active cases against him, six of which are murder charges. He was last released on bail in 2010 after completing a seven-year sentence. Following his release, he spent time in various Middle Eastern countries before returning to Bangladesh a few years ago.

Monirul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raozan Police Station in Chattogram, stated that Muhammad Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury Prakash Major Iqbal was arrested during a police operation related to an old case on Monday night.

He further mentioned that no weapons were found in Iqbal's possession, and he denied having any firearms.
