Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Rezaul Karim made fascist-like remarks targeting Khaleda Zia in his speech, for which he should withdraw his statement and apologize, said Laxmipur-3 constituency paddy sheesh candidate and BNP joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie.

On Wednesday (December 17) afternoon, during an election campaign in Islam Market area of Laxmipur Municipality, Jamaat's Dhaka Metropolitan North Secretary and party candidate Dr. Annie Chowdhury said these things to reporters for Rezaul Karim.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, I spoke on a talk show. At that time, the Jamaat candidate admitted that a certain type of political party politician has stolen the money of orphans and the money of the needy. Such statements have been made by Hasina and the fascist's friends in the past. The Jamaat candidate swore by Allah that he did not take Khaleda Zia's name. It is true that he did not take Khaleda Zia's name. But who did he mean by that? Khaleda Zia is respected throughout Bangladesh and internationally. So, the way Hasina the fascist spoke, he (Rezaul Karim) spoke in the same way.

He also said that some media outlets have distorted it, spread confusion. I have withdrawn, what did I withdraw? Whose face is such a confession, who says that a certain politician has stolen the money of orphans, stolen the money of the needy. Didn't he disrespect Khaleda Zia like fascism? We strongly protest. We strongly condemn. He should apologize for this statement that he did not mean Khaleda Zia, it is not true. He said it specifically targeting Khaleda Zia.

He said, I am requesting you to take responsibility and say that you have disrespected, belittled, neglected my leader and have spoken and spoken unfairly like a fascist. You should not just withdraw this statement, you should apologize in this statement and say, what you said by swearing to Allah, you did not say, I said I have a video recording, even if you swear to Allah, it can actually be said that propaganda and misrepresentation is allowed in front of the people, but you have actually made such a statement. You have insulted the national leader Begum Khaleda Zia. I ask you to withdraw this statement and apologize to the people of Lakshmipur.

District BNP leader Abul Hashem, Lakshmipur Municipal BNP President Rezaul Karim Liton, General Secretary Nizam Uddin and Organizing Secretary Alamgir Hossain were present at the time.
