Fire at Kalmilta Bazar in Bijoy Sarani brought under control

A fire that broke out at Kalmilta Bazar at the Bijoy Sarani intersection in the capital was brought under control on Tuesday morning.

Md. Anwarul Islam, an officer of the Fire Service Headquarters media cell, said the fire was brought under control around 7:00 am on May 19.

According to the Fire Service, the blaze started on the ground floor of the two-storey market. The Fire Service received the emergency call at 5:14 am, and firefighters reached the scene within six minutes and began operations.

A total of 10 firefighting units from Tejgaon, Mohammadpur, Mirpur and Siddiqbazar stations worked to contain the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far.
