A festive atmosphere was created in Kachpur surrounding the visit of Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman to Chandpur.
A large crowd gathered in the Kachpur Bridge area since morning today (May 16) to witness the journey of BNP leader Tarique Rahman on his way to Chandpur via the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Led by Narayanganj-1 constituency local MP Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates took positions in different areas from Kachpur to Madanpur. Leaders and activists gathered in the area from different places in Rupganj since morning with processions and motorcycle processions.
At this time, banners, festoons and party flags were hung on both sides of the road. The entire area became alive with drums and slogans. The leaders and activists were holding placards with Tarique Rahman's picture and festoons carrying various party messages.
Local BNP leaders said that the party chief's visit after a long time has created a lot of enthusiasm among the workers. They also claimed that local organizational activities have become more visible.
For the sake of security, additional law and order forces have been deployed in Kachpur, Bhulta and Madanpur areas. Highway Police and District Police are working to keep traffic flowing normally. However, traffic jams and slow-moving situations have been created in some areas due to the crowd of leaders and activists.
Ordinary people also stood on both sides of the road to greet the leader and many recorded videos on their mobile phones.
It is worth noting that Tarique Rahman is scheduled to participate in multiple programs during his Chandpur visit, including road meetings, development activities and organizational meetings.
