Television reporter Al-Amin Talukder has been elected president of the Jhalakathi Television Journalists Association for the 2026–27 term. Masudul Alam of Banglavision was elected vice-president, while Maasranga Television district reporter Alok Saha became general secretary, all unopposed.

As no rival candidates contested the biennial election, all candidates for the 11-member executive committee were elected unopposed. Election Director and District Information Officer Lelin Bala officially announced the results at a Chinese restaurant in Jhalakathi town on Tuesday afternoon (May 19).

The other elected members are: Ratan Acharya of Channel 24 as joint general secretary, Jarul Islam Jalil of RTV as treasurer, Barkat Hossain Mridha of SA TV as office secretary, Mainul Haque Lipu of ATN News as publicity and publication secretary, and Saiful Islam of Nagarik TV as sports secretary.

Dulal Saha of Jamuna TV, Tarun Sarkar of Ekattor TV, and Shahidul Alam of Zee TV were elected executive members.

According to the election schedule, nomination papers were distributed on May 17, submitted and scrutinized on May 18, while May 19 was the final date for withdrawal of candidacy. Voting had been scheduled for May 20, but no polling was required as only one candidate contested each post.

Candidates formally collected nomination papers from Election Director Lelin Bala on May 17. After verification and scrutiny, the final candidate list was published.

The organization has a total of 22 voters.
