Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee stated on Friday that the people of Laxmipur have been "deprived of development for 17 years" and vowed to end this negligence.
Speaking at a view-exchange meeting with leaders of the newly formed Chandraganj Upazila BNP, the Minister highlighted that the successful establishment of the new upazila proves the current administration’s commitment to fulfilling public demands. Anee, who represents the Laxmipur-3 (Sadar) constituency, emphasized that the region has long been ignored in critical sectors.
"For nearly two decades, we lacked proper roads, schools, colleges, and effective solutions for waterlogging," Anee said. "We are moving forward now. We will establish a university, a medical college, and an economic zone in Laxmipur to revitalize our rural economy."
The meeting was attended by senior local officials, including District Council Administrator Shahabuddin Sabu, District BNP Joint Convener Hasibur Rahman, and BFF Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury.
The Minister urged local leaders to work transparently to ensure that development benefits reach every citizen.
