Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has alleged that the newly formed student organization NCP is operating under the direction of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir.

Speaking as the chair of a solidarity rally organized by the district BNP in Laxmipur on Tuesday, the minister strongly criticized certain political elements for attempting to divide the nation. He condemned figures like Nasiruddin Patwari for using offensive language against BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman urging political restraint.

"Outside of the fallen fascist regime, there are only two main political factions in Bangladesh today: the Jamaat-Shibir axis and the nationalist bloc led by Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia" Anee stated. He emphasized that the BNP as a liberal democratic party also maintains strict discipline and does not tolerate indecency in politics, noting that Tarique Rahman has routinely expelled individuals who violate party codes.

The minister accused these emerging groups of fracturing the anti-fascist unity built over the past 17 years. Questioning their sudden prominence after the August 5 political transition, he asked "Where were they when Krishak Dal leader Sajeeb was killed in front of us in Laxmipur on July 18, 2023? They were absent from the movement for 17 years and are only claiming credit now."

The rally, hosted at the N. Ahmadia Government Primary School ground and moderated by District BNP Joint Convener Hasibur Rahman. BNP Chairperson's Advisor and Laxmipur-2 MP Abul Khair Bhuiyan attended as the chief guest. Special guests included Laxmipur-1 MP Shahadat Hossain Selim and BFF Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury, alongside other local BNP leaders.
