The three-day nationwide Land Service Fair 2026 was inaugurated in Morelganj, Bagerhat, on Tuesday morning. Aligning with the national slogan, "Pay regular land development tax, protect your land," the local event began at 11:30 AM at the Upazila Land Office premises. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Habibullah officially opened the fair by cutting a ribbon and releasing balloons.

Following the opening, a colorful rally was brought out on the land office premises, led by UNO Habibullah as the chief guest. He later toured various stalls set up to assist land beneficiaries, accompanied by Upazila Land Officer Atish Sarkar.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman virtually inaugurated the countrywide central event via video conference from Dhaka. The local inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent local political and administrative figures, including Upazila BNP President Shahidul Haque Babul, General Secretary Advocate Md. Mehedi Hasan, Municipal BNP General Secretary Asaduzzaman Milon, BNP leader Faruk Hossain Samad, and Municipal Jubo Dal Member Secretary Mizanur Rahman Palash.

Also present were Land Office Chief Assistant Sharif Nazmul Huda, Union Land Officers Sagar Kumar Sen, Bishnu Chakraborty, Mahfuzur Rahman, and Sraboni Chakraborty, alongside Zakir Hossain and Surveyor Anwar Haque.

This year's fair highlights the theme, "Citizen-friendly automated land management, secure land and prosperous future." Stalls at the venue are providing critical direct assistance to citizens, featuring services such as digital e-mutation (e-namjari) registration, online land development tax processing, and guidance on collecting Khatian and Mouza maps
