Multiple, simultaneous road blockades and sit-in demonstrations near the Jatiya Press Club on Sunday morning caused severe traffic congestion, bringing several key areas of Dhaka to a standstill and stranding commuters for hours.

The protests, which led to a near complete gridlock in areas like Shahbagh, Paltan, and Motijheel, involved several distinct groups: The Ibtedayi Madrasa Teachers’ Unity Council, teachers from schools for students with disabilities (demanding MPO enlistment and recognition), and representatives of recognised but non-MPO institutions.

Unemployed disabled graduates and non-cadre candidates from the 43rd BCS. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a press release expressing regret for the "unexpected congestion" and the suffering caused to the public.

The DMP stated that traffic police are "working tirelessly" to restore normal movement and requested public cooperation amid the challenging circumstances.
