60 kmph Storm Warning Issued for Dhaka and 10 Other Regions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty winds of 45 to 60 kmph across 11 regions including the capital, Dhaka, by noon on Monday (June 8).

The winds, expected to blow from the south or southwest, will affect Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. Rain and thundershowers are also likely in these areas.

For public safety, the BMD has instructed all inland river ports in the affected regions to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1. Vessel operators and passengers are advised to remain alert.
