


The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a severe weather warning for 12 regions, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and squalls up to 80 kmph between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday.
The affected regions are Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet. Inland river ports in these areas have been instructed to hoist Warning Signal No. 2.
For the rest of the country, southerly or south-easterly winds may reach 45 to 60 kmph alongside rain or thunderstorms. River ports in these locations are advised to display Warning Signal No. 1.
Additionally, the BMD's 24-hour national forecast warns of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across most parts of the Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as many areas within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions until 6 p.m. today.
Isolated places in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience moderate to very heavy rainfall. Both day and night temperatures are expected to drop slightly across the country.
