Thunderstorms and Squally Winds Forecast for Nine Districts Including Dhaka

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting rain thunderstorms and gusty winds for nine districts including the capital Dhaka.

According to the latest inland river port warning valid until 1:00 PM today, temporary squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h are expected to sweep across Dhaka Faridpur Khulna Barishal Patuakhali Cumilla Noakhali Chattogram and Cox's Bazar.

Due to these potentially hazardous conditions the BMD has instructed river ports in the affected areas to hoist Local Warning Signal No. 1. Commuters and vessel operators in these regions are strongly advised to exercise caution while navigating waterways during this period.
