The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has implemented comprehensive, multi-layered security measures across the capital to maintain law and order and ensure public safety surrounding the upcoming "July Mass Uprising Day" on August 5.
DMP sources stated that to prevent any form of chaos or untoward incidents, checkposts and search operations have been intensified at key locations, including all entry points to the capital. Major event venues and the "July Memorial" area have been placed under special security, with continuous monitoring using CCTV cameras and drones.
Special sweeping operations involving SWAT, the Bomb Disposal Unit, and K9 units are being conducted at places expecting large public gatherings. Additionally, plainclothes intelligence personnel from DB, CTTC, CTSB, and IAD are actively deployed on the ground.
Adequate Quick Response Teams have been kept on standby to handle any emergency situations immediately. Alongside regular DMP personnel, RAB and CID will jointly discharge security duties. Senior DMP officials will remain on the ground to directly supervise duties and closely monitor the overall security arrangement.
