


The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka marked the first anniversary of ‘Marka-e-Haq’ (Fight for Truth) on Sunday (May 10). The event was attended by academicians, journalists, students and members of the Pakistani community living in Bangladesh.
Messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff were read out during the programme. The messages paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens in ‘Marka-e-Haq’.
The messages stated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain prepared to face future challenges and threats. They also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
According to the statements, lasting peace in South Asia is not possible without a solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
Speakers at the event said Pakistan has emerged as a supporter of regional and global peace and stability while maintaining its defence capabilities.
The programme also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and continuing efforts to combat terrorism.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider praised the unity of Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens, saying they had stood together in response to what he described as Indian aggression.
Pakistani students and community members also praised the united role of the country’s civilian and military leadership.
A photo exhibition featuring important moments of ‘Marka-e-Haq’ was held at the High Commission premises. A documentary on the professionalism and bravery of the Pakistani armed forces was also screened.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, development and prosperity in Pakistan.
