A horrific fire incident occurred on May 10,2026 in Bormapalta village under Ujani Union of Muksudpur Upazila in Gopalganj district. The fire, reportedly caused by an electrical short circuit, quickly spread and reduced seven dwelling houses belonging to four families to ashes within a short time.

According to local residents, smoke was first seen coming from one of the houses, prompting locals to rush to the scene in an attempt to control the fire. However, due to the presence of highly flammable materials, the flames rapidly spread to nearby houses.
