


Manjurul Islam, owner of Sohagi Bricks in Dinajpur’s Phulbari, has been elected as an executive member of the Bangladesh Brick Manufacturers Owners Association (BBMOA) central committee for the 2026–2028 term.
He contested the election from the Shahjahan-Momin panel, coordinated by Firoz Haider Khan, and secured third place among the 35 elected executive members by receiving 1,114 votes.
The biennial election of BBMOA was held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Center on Mintu Road in Dhaka. Voting took place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. A total of 57 members were elected to the central committee through the polls.
Following his victory, local businessmen, well-wishers and leaders of various professional organizations in Phulbari welcomed Manjurul Islam with at the Sohagi Bricks office on Monday evening after his return from Dhaka.
Speakers at the reception said the achievement is a matter of pride for the people of Phulbari. They expressed hope that he would contribute to the development of the brick manufacturing sector and work to protect the interests of business owners.
