Six Temporary Cattle Markets Approved in Chattogram for Qurbani

The Chattogram District Administration has authorized the establishment of six temporary cattle markets across the city ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Following this approval, the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has already invited tenders for the lease of three of these designated sites.

According to an order from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, these markets will operate for 10 days, from May 19 to May 28, 2026. The decision was finalized based on local demand and security assessments by the Police Commissioner, in accordance with the 'Markets and Markets (Establishment and Management) Rules, 2025'.

The district administration has imposed strict conditions to ensure public convenience. All markets must be situated at least 100 yards away from main roads to prevent traffic congestion. Furthermore, no animals are permitted to be kept on public streets or outside the designated boundaries of the markets.
