The intense heat of the Bangla month of Boishakh–Jyaishthya often harms the skin. Sun exposure can cause sunburn, tanning, dark spots, and acne. Natural herbs are widely used in traditional skincare to help reduce these problems and improve skin health.
Experts say that certain herbal ingredients contain natural healing properties that help cleanse the skin, reduce infections, and improve skin texture when used regularly.
Neem is a well-known herb in skincare. A paste made from neem leaves, turmeric, and milk can help reduce skin infections and acne. Apply it for about 15 minutes and wash it off after it dries. This mixture helps control oil, reduce blackheads, and soothe sunburn spots.
A simple neem face pack can also help improve skin brightness. Soak neem leaves in water for about an hour, make a paste, apply it to the skin, and wash after drying. It may help reduce rashes and itching.
Turmeric contains anti-septic, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin irritation and improve glow.
For dry skin, mix turmeric paste with milk and water. For oily skin, combine it with aloe vera gel and multani soil to make a face pack. A balanced pack for all skin types can be made with turmeric, multani soil, rose paste, and milk. Apply until dry, then wash off.
Cinnamon may help reduce acne marks, blemishes, and dark spots during summer. A simple mask can be made by mixing cinnamon powder with honey and a little water. Apply for 10–15 minutes, then wash off. It can help reduce redness and soften the skin.
For dry skin, cinnamon can also be used as a scrub with honey, salt, almond oil, or olive oil. Massage gently before washing.
