Development planning meeting to make Paikgachha Municipality a model municipality

An important meeting of the Town Coordination Committee (TLCC) has been held to make Paikgachha Municipality a modern, clean and citizen-friendly model municipality. In the meeting organized at the municipality office on Tuesday afternoon, sustainable development, safe water supply, waste management and improvement of citizen services were discussed in detail.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Municipal Administrator Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury, was moderated by Municipal Executive Officer Md. Lalu Sardar. Paikgachha Municipality, development organization WaterAid and Nabalok provided overall support in the implementation of the meeting.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mondal, former Assistant Professor GMM Azharul Islam, Upazila Education Officer (Acting) Sanjay Debnath, Community Mobilizer Kawsar Ali, Nabalok Project Manager BM Nahid Hasan, Project Officer Kazi Farhana Afroz, Mukta Biswas, Monitoring Officer Mahabubar Rahman, Community Mobilizer Bashiron Nazira, Water Aid's Capacity Development Expert Suman Kumar Saha, Lecturer Saidur Rahman, Lecturer Ujjwal Kumar Biswas, Sheikh Julie, Bina Mondal, Alamgir Hossain, Sheikh Jalal Uddin, Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Office Assistant Sheikh Ziaur Rahman, Uttam Ghosh, Rafiqul Islam, Bill Clerk Shahin Hossain, Conservancy Inspector Bikash Chandra Ghosh, Road Light Inspector Tanmoy Mondal, Seema Das and various levels of the municipality officials and employees were present. Representatives of Water Aid and Nabalok also participated in the meeting.

They presented various technical opinions and plans for the development activities of the municipal area, ensuring safe water and modernizing citizen services. The progress of the ongoing development activities of the municipal area was reviewed in the meeting. In particular, importance was given to the effective use of the newly built water testing lab with the support of Water Aid and Nabalok to ensure safe water supply, strengthening cleanliness activities, developing waste management through modern technology and taking coordinated initiatives to prevent environmental pollution.

In the chairman's speech, Municipal Administrator Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury said, "We are working in coordination with various development partner organizations to make Paikgachha Municipality a modern and model municipality. If the participation of citizens is ensured, the development activities will be accelerated."

Finally, Municipal Executive Officer Md. Lalu Sardar declared the meeting closed by thanking everyone present.
