Paikgachha Municipality Distributes VGF Rice for Eid

VGF rice has been distributed among poor and low-income families in Paikgachha Municipality ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

The distribution program was held on Thursday morning at Paikgachha Government High School and Model Government Primary School. Municipal Executive Officer Md. Lalu Sardar formally handed over the rice to beneficiaries.

According to Municipal Chief Assistant Sheikh Ziaur Rahman, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated 46.25 metric tons of rice for the municipality under the VGF program. A total of 4,625 cardholder families from nine wards received 10 kilograms of rice each.

Among those present were Upazila Social Service Office Union Social Worker Md. Abu Fatha, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Enamul Haque, CTCRP Community Mobilizer Kawsar Ali, Deputy Assistant Engineer Suman Das, former councilor and panel mayor SM Emdadul Haque, former Municipal BNP joint convener Selim Reza Lucky, and other municipal officials and employees.

Police members assisted in maintaining order during the distribution process.
