Paikgachha Municipality Proposes Tk 52.2 Cr Budget

The Paikgachha Municipality has proposed a Tk 52.20 crore budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Municipal Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury announced the budget at the municipality's under-construction building on Tuesday afternoon (June 30).

The detailed proposal outlines an estimated expenditure of Tk 51.56 crore, projecting a surplus of Tk 63.77 lakh for the upcoming fiscal year.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed and Paikgachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Kibria attended the announcement as special guests.

The program was co-moderated by WaterAid Bangladesh representative Sumon Saha and Nabolok Parishad Project Officer Mukta Biswas. The event concluded with open discussions and addresses from Municipal Executive Officer Lalu Sardar, alongside various municipal engineers, NGO representatives, and local journalists.
