The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations held a series of protests in Paikgachha on Tuesday, June 23. The day-long demonstrations were organized to protest the alleged propaganda, unethical politics, and activities of the Awami League.
The Upazila and Municipality BNP branches organized protest marches, motorcycle processions, and rallies. The processions circled the main roads of the upazila before concluding with a large gathering at the central market intersection.
Upazila BNP Convener Dr. Abdul Majid chaired the main rally, which was moderated by Member Secretary and former Panel Mayor SM Imdadul Haque. Key speakers addressed the crowd, including former Upazila BNP General Secretary SM Enamul Haque, Municipality BNP President Aslam Parvez, and General Secretary Kamal Ahmed Selim Newaz, alongside several other local BNP figures.
Separate rallies were also held by affiliated organizations. The Jubo Dal rally was chaired by Upazila Convener Tahiduzzaman Mukul and moderated by Municipality Member Secretary Anarul Islam, with former councilor Imran Sardar serving as the main speaker.
Additionally, the Upazila Volunteer Party (Swechchhasebak Dal) held a gathering chaired by former Convener Kazi Sajjad Ahmed Manik and moderated by Molla Yunus Ali. Both affiliated rallies drew significant attendance from local activists and union leaders.
