Preparations Underway for July Uprising Day in Paikgachha

The Paikgachha Upazila Administration held a preparatory meeting on July 29 to outline plans for the upcoming July Uprising Day scheduled to be observed across the nation on August 5.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury chaired the session at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. The primary focus of the meeting was to finalize a coordinated approach to ensure the day is marked with due respect and dignity.

To improve efficiency and community representation, the meeting brought together key voices from across the upazila. Attendees included senior local government officials spanning agriculture fisheries engineering and law enforcement. Prominent community and political leaders also participated notably former Freedom Fighter Commander Ruhul Amin Gazi Upazila BNP Member Secretary SM Imdadul Haque Municipality BNP President Aslam Parvez and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Advocate Mortaza Zaman Alamgir Rulu.

Educators, local business leaders civil society members and journalists from the local press club contributed to the planning. Notably, Al Mamun a direct participant in the July uprising, was present to share perspectives. By the end of the session, the committee finalized key decisions regarding the schedule and civic responsibilities for the August 5 commemoration.
