July Uprising Day 2026 Observed in Nageshwari Kurigram

To mark July Uprising Day 2026 the Nageshwari upazila administration hosted a reception and discussion on Wednesday honoring the families of martyrs and injured fighters.

The commemorative event held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium at noon was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mohammad Alauddin. Kurigram-1 MP Md. Anwarul Islam attended the gathering to pay his respects and address the community.

Several key local officials and community figures spoke at the event including Assistant Commissioner (Land) Badruzzaman Rishad Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Sujan Saha and Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullahil Zaman. Representing local political factions and the fighters themselves Upazila BNP Convener Golam Rasul Raja Upazila Jamaat Ameer Abdul Mannan and July fighter Abu Sayeed Sifat also shared their reflections on the sacrifices made during the uprising.

Following the formal discussion, guests distributed prizes to the winners of various community competitions themed around the July Uprising encouraging youth engagement and preserving the historical memory of the event.
