The government will not allow political interference in the country's economy, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury announced on Tuesday. Speaking at the inauguration of the Bangladesh Start-up Investment Company in Dhaka, the Minister emphasized a new era of professional management for the nation's financial systems.
"The government is actively strengthening the capital market, investment landscape, and the broader financial sector," the Minister stated. He noted that foreign investors are increasingly interested in the Bangladeshi market as a result of these stability efforts.
The event marked the launch of Bangladesh’s first institutionally managed venture capital platform, backed by 39 commercial banks. Starting with a capital base of approximately 425 crore taka, the fund is designed to support the local ecosystem by investing in seed, late-seed, and Series-A stage startups.
