


At least six people have been killed and two others injured in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, according to local authorities. The strikes took place on Friday (April 24), a day after US President Donald Trump extended a ceasefire by three weeks.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that two people were killed in Wadi al-Huzayr, two in Toulin, and one each in Srifa and Yater.
Separately, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said an Indonesian peacekeeper wounded in a March 29 attack on its base died in hospital on Friday. The mission said early findings suggest an Israeli tank shell hit the base.
The Israeli military said it killed six Hezbollah fighters in Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon. It remains unclear whether this claim is linked to the deaths reported by Lebanese authorities.
Lebanon has reported at least 2,491 deaths since the conflict escalated on March 2, according to official figures.
