Two Arrested with 16,000 Yaba Tablets in Chattogram Raid

Police arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized a large consignment of Yaba tablets during a late-night raid in the city’s Baklia area on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Baklia Police Station set up a checkpoint in front of the Shaheed Bashruzzaman Roundabout Police Box. Around 2:30 am, officers intercepted two men acting suspiciously. Upon searching them, police recovered 16,000 pieces of Yaba.

The detainees have been identified as Shahidul Islam (31) from Lohagara, Chattogram, and Md. Azizul Haque (47) from Boalmari, Faridpur.

In a press release issued Saturday afternoon, police confirmed that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act. The suspects have been produced before the court following the completion of primary legal formalities.
