The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has arrested a 31-year-old man and seized 10,000 Yaba pills hidden inside a mini pickup van in Chattogram’s Patiya upazila.
The suspect identified as Md. Jamir Hossain from Chakaria in Cox's Bazar, was driving the vehicle used to transport the drugs.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, RAB-7 received intelligence that a significant Yaba shipment was en route from Cox's Bazar to Chattogram. Acting on this tip-off, a team set up a temporary checkpost near the Hazrat Shahchand Aulia (RA) Dargah Gate early Saturday morning.
At approximately 3:00 am, officers intercepted the suspected mini pickup. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of six tightly wrapped bundles concealed beneath the driver's seat. Upon opening the bundles, officers recovered 10,000 Yaba pills and promptly detained the driver.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect, the seized drugs and the impounded vehicle have been handed over to the local police station. A narcotics case is being filed, and legal proceedings are actively underway.
